New regulations are coming into effect on April 1st, 2025 — under the Electrical Safety Standards for Private Tenancies (NI) Regulations 2024, all landlords must have an EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) carried out at least once every 5 years.
📋 You must: ✅ Complete an EICR before any new tenancy begins
✅ Provide a copy to tenants within 28 days
✅ Resolve any issues found during the inspection promptly
⏰ Existing landlords have until December 1st, 2025 to comply — but don’t leave it until the last minute.
