SCAM - DO NOT USE THIS TRADES PERSON. To start with Richard seemed very prompt and professional. He took a deposit for the work - which he seemed to need quite urgently, but I paid him anyway. Then there was nothing. He would reply to texts and then started making strange excuses. He was on another job, he was at the hospital, he was in the hospital? His 'Mother' then rang me and was very curt on the phone, saying I had been harassing Richard (texting him once a week asking when work would be completed.) I apologised and said I would wait for him to get better and call again in a few weeks. I waited 2 months and rang him last weekend on my husbands phone asking him to complete a job. He said he could come tomorrow. When I then told him who I was, he hung up. He then called me back and explained he was confused and would pay me within the week. I gave him one last chance - despite waiting for my money since March and it was now July. Its now been 9 days and nothing. Ive called again and texted and he hasn't replied. He has essentially stolen money from me (£70) and hasn't completed the work. Im not sure how he has so many amazing reviews (that all sound very similar) because he seems to have been working throughout his so called (illness.) Don't get scammed like I did. I will also be reporting him to the police.
