Wearing a pair of my handmade boot cuffs isn't just an expression of your style, confidence and individuality, these boot cuffs hold their own origin story and a message to never give up. 

On a day in 2021, that'd started no different to any other, without warning my life seemed to self combust. The dumb certainty of life and me in it was stripped away like the flames of an uncontrolled fire; unapologetic, unprejudice destruction. In a few hours I had gone from sending a coherent, legiable text, to falling into a coma and fighting for my life.

Returning back to my family home with few possessions I didn't feel the same or recognize the person looking back at me in the mirror and I had little to help me reclaim my identity. Illness left me without the energy to react, not even the energy to fall apart. I formed an alliance with naievity: treading an unknown path which stretched time and pulled my attention to the smaller things in life. 

I found inspiration in the strap, the surviving piece from my favourite boots which had once hung from the ankle down to the bottom of my heel. From a fragment of the past and potential in a piece of ribbon, the boot Cuff evolved.

The experience taught me a lot, about a lot, so although I hope to hear that these bootcuffs become your good luck 'charm', the most important lesson I learnt, the reason for sharing this all with you; is that at the time I could not see, not even potential for anything good to come out of this experience. When in fact, it was from this situation that the bootcuffs were created. 

Although it is easy to say the words and very much different when you are living through things, try to embrace all of lifes' big events and claim them as your own origin story. 

So should you or someone you know find themselves in a place where they are struggling then please use these cuffs and my story as proof that when the fire dies new life does rise from the ashes.
