Asher Cusack Therapy

My name is Asher and I’m a psychotherapeutic counsellor who follows an integrative approach and works with adults. I provide counselling by video call to anyone in the UK, and face-to-face counselling at The Old Fire Station on Gosforth High Street, Newcastle upon Tyne. I work with individual clients aged 16+ and specialise in working with women and LGBTQI+ people (a community I am a member of), but all are welcome. In my work, I try to be as approachable as possible and to create a calm, judgement free space for us to talk. I endeavour to be honest and open about my own experience and knowledge, especially when I feel there are gaps that I would like to improve upon. I believe that therapists should have a real, human connection with their clients, and express their empathy openly, unlike the stuffy psychotherapy practices of film and TV. As an integrative therapist, I view everyone as an individual and tailor my approach to that. I will listen to your history, feelings and issues, and together we will agree what we think we can achieve through therapy and a framework for getting there. While we will roughly follow this framework, you can always bring anything you need to into a session. Life happens, and we will always adapt to that.
