FARMING - CONTRACTING - RECYCLING...AWSM Farming Ltd is a Farming, Contracting, and Recycling business based 7 miles to the west of Scotch Corner between Richmond in North Yorkshire and Barnard Castle in County Durham. The business was established in 1996 by Adam Metcalfe when he took over the running of the 265ac family farm.The business was originally based on the family farm at Dalton Fields near Richmond, North Yorkshire, due to our continued development and growing needs of the business we have out grown the original farm yard so the business now operates from a much larger site at Lane Head, North Yorkshire. The site at Lane Head is centrally positioned to the area we operate in and in recent years we have built two new grain storage facilities complemented by a 45t/hour Allmet grain dryer, installed a certified weighbridge, and have plans to build a new office and workshop building to serve the fleet of contracting equipment and the growing team of office staff.Adam started the business by buying a second hand crop sprayer as he had identified a need in the area for crop spraying, other services were soon offered including fodder beet drilling and harvesting. The business has expanded steadily to support 20 full time employers, and in addition to its own farming enterprises AWSM Farming now manages a substantial acreage under various contract agreements...
