Description

Recognising we want things to change or that we need support takes courage. I believe that we all need support at different times and there is wisdom in recognising when that time is.

Counselling is a place to bring all that is there, the shiny bits and the bits that are harder to face. Then together we can begin to listen, explore and understand your experiences. It is an active and collaborative process. You do not have to do it on your own.

I really do believe that shifts are possible, that we can let go of beliefs and relational patterns that no longer serve us. I also believe that this can take time, to feel safe enough to touch the layers of ourselves that we may want to hide or protect. It can take time to make authentic contact with ourselves, which then enables more authentic contact with others and the world around us.

I care deeply about the work I offer. I bring my courage, compassion, depth, wisdom and steadiness to our work together.

I work with a diversity of backgrounds and lived experiences. This may link to gender, sexuality, race, class, neurodiversity, age, disability. These are all part of what make us who we are. We do not exist in isolation; we are impacted by the culture and society that surrounds us. I hope to create an environment where the complexity of these lived experiences can be explored as a part of our work together.

I work with adults aged 18+.  I offer long-term and short-term work, with frequency of sessions adapted to your needs. I have a particular interest in long term work because I think it takes time to build a relationship and to get out of the way of ourselves to be able to attend to what is really calling for attention or change. I respect the pacing that may be needed to feel safe enough to go there, to be able to take things apart to then be able to put them back together.

I work in person from my warm and peaceful room in Mytholmroyd as well as online and by phone.

Additionally, I work outside in the beautiful hills and woodlands of the Calder Valley. This is informed by my wild therapy training; acknowledging complexity, supporting authenticity and creating space for what needs to emerge. We may walk, we may sit, we may create. Anything is possible.

Please get in touch if you want to find out more about any of my offerings or to see if we feel like a good fit.
